After the 4-day Thanksgiving break - back to work!

The company that I am working for only observed the following paid holidays:
1. 1St of January - 1-Day
2. Memorial Day (in May) - 1-Day
3. Independence Day - 1-Day
4. Labor Day (in September) - 1-Day
5. Thanksgiving (in November) - 2-Days
6. Christmas - 1-Day
Total - 7-Days

Comparing to Malaysia, we working in the private company in the States don’t have much paid holidays.

I have 10 vacation days. I am saving 5 days for next year to go home to celebrate CNY with my family. I think I work a lot. What do you think?

Missing my little girl...

Called home this morning and mom told me my little girl is gone... Can't say i don't and won't miss you but.... that's life.

My relatives and friends, do take good care of yourselves. Busy is just an excuse, remember to savor each moment of the day and the people around you. Also remember to stop and smell the roses along the way.

I am not home again this year to celebrate your birthday. However, i have baked an Apricot-Ginger cake and a Chocolate Banana cake in honour of your birthday. Thank you for what you both have given to me and Henry.



About the cake? Er... i don't think they are going to be fresh anymore when they arrived at your main gate. So, i will take care of them over here. I will bake you something they next time i go home for a visit.

2008 Spring Cherry Blossoms 樱花展

Spring is here and what’s more exciting to see all the trees and flowers bloom and spring back to life after a long cold winter. As the result of all the trees and flowers blooming, the air is also saturated with pollens, which can cause serious allergy problems. Everything outside is covered by a film of pollen. 2007 Individual Income Tax Return

Just finished e-filing my federal and state tax return. I guess i can go to sleep now. Will worry about filing all the documnets away tomorrow.

Life or no Life?

I think i better start posting something here, If not, people might start infering from the lack of activity on my blog that i have no life in 35244. I have a few entries ready but i am going to release it one at a time to keep this blog fresh. Stay tune. I have also posted some earlier draft so go back a few months on my blog to play catch-up.

German Requiem - by ASO

Just came back from a symphony concert at the Alys Stephen Center in downtown Birmingham. My boss' wife plays fro the ASO (Alabama Symphony Ochestra) and she has two free tickes for the event.

I received an email from my boss on Thursday asking me if i am interested and i replied - YEAH! and that's how i got one and another coworker of mine, Chris, got the other ticket. It was a very good concert. My first Ochestra, by the way. Chris and I are actually thinking of getting the season ticket for the 08 and 09 shows.

Now i have to get used to writing 2008. Hopefully i don't mess up the year on the first few checks that i will be writing for this year. First one, rent for January 2008, YIKES!!
